Using proper body mechanics may be the single most important aspect of longevity in the field of massage. Too often, as therapists, our bodies become injured from overuse and improper body mechanics. While we spend much time practicing in school, once in the field we often develop bad habits that affect our ability to work efficiently and stay pain free.
In this class, we will review how to use our bodies to insure that we are working safely and taking good care of ourselves. We will identify our own postural dysfunction, bad habits and ways to work more efficiently. We will review the importance of self-care and set up concrete plans for staying strong and healthy.
Additionally, you will be videotaped as you work (on your phone) so that you can see how you are using or mis-using your body and you will be able to look back at this video as a reference point.

The work we do as Massage Therapists can take its toll on our bodies. This course is designed to give clear feedback on your body mechanics and provide a plan to keep you healthy and able to work in this field injury free.
