Hospice massage or end-of-life massage is a very specialized type of massage therapy. Even with many years of practicing massage, working with end-of-life patients inspired me to develop and teach an intensive workshop for massage therapists to better serve this population. I am extending my practice to offer hospice massage “in home” for people with advanced and complex health issues.
The benefits of this personalized massage are many, including a reduction in stress, muscle tension, and a feeling of overall wellness. Many of my patients tell me “massage is the one thing I look forward to every week”. Caregivers and family members consistently report that they see a change in their loved ones after a massage.
Knowing the sacredness of this time in life, I seek to bring a sense of calm and peace. My massage can be modified to suit each patient. Seated, in bed, clothed…I meet each person where they are.
For additional information, please contact me so that we can discuss a treatment plan that works for your unique situation.
